Vassiliki Watersports Festival

WELCOME EVERYONE!
It's all over for this year, folks - we'll be letting you have dates for 2011 as soon as possible!
Sunday 20th saw the finale of the Mountain Bike Race and the Sailing Regatta - with Olympic contenders and previous Tornado European Champions Dannis Paschalides and Kostas Trigonis edging current J24 European champs Nikos Mavros and Alex Tagaropoulos into second place on countback, leaving the Wildwind team of Joe Bennett and Marko Reynolds in 3rd place in the overall rankings of the Greek National Catamaran Cup.
The Laser class was taken by last years winner and current Laser Masters World Champion, Adonis Bouyouris, with 16 year old Yannis Beginas from Thessaloniki in 2nd and Alastair Nichol from the UK in 3rd.
The F 18 class was won by Andy Barnes and Laura Prentice of the UK and of the Flying Fish corporation who teach sailors to become instructors; with Swedishman Jon Thalen and Andrew Taylor taking 2nd and Italian Franco Deganutti and Ugo de Siervo in 3rd.
The Hobie 16 class was won by Festival Organiser Simon Morgan with his Wildwind crew of Rachel Coomber; with Rory Plummer and Harry Fish in 2nd and Charlie Ellington and Ovla Irish in 3rd.

The small village of Vassiliki on the idyllic Greek island of Lefkas has long been famed as a wonderful destination for windsurfing and sailing with its beautiful bay and fantastic wind conditions most afternoons. The Festival is a chance for the village and the island of Lefkas to show off all that's best on the island including the islanders' warm hospitality as well as the stunning natural beauty of the area.
Entry to the events is open to anyone- - you can JOIN in or simply WATCH the action!!
And even if you are not going to be on the island you can watch LIVE ONLINE this year!
